EURC and the other digital currencies

Everything so far has been dollars, because USDC is Arc's native money. But Arc's ambitions are multi-currency, and that is where some of its most interesting plumbing lives.

Same issuer, Circle, and same design: one token, one euro, backed by reserves, redeemable. Circle has signalled EURC support on Arc, giving the network a second major currency. And through Circle's partner-stablecoin programme, regional currencies follow — announced work spans currencies like the Brazilian real, Japanese yen and Mexican peso. The direction of travel is a network where many currencies exist in digital form side by side.

Why multiple currencies on one network matters

It becomes obvious the moment two of them meet. Today, exchanging currencies internationally means the correspondent-banking maze: multiple banks, spread taken at each hop, settlement in days, markets closed on weekends. If digital dollars and digital euros live on the same network, exchanging them is just a transaction — seconds, final, any hour of any day.

Same rules apply, worth restating: EURC is a stablecoin — it holds value, it does not grow it, and anyone promising yield for holding it is selling a pattern you already know. And multi-currency does not complicate your gas life: fees on Arc stay in USDC regardless of what you are sending.
