Arc Mainnet, T-minus 9: the ARC token file, read soberly

Nine days before mainnet, the loudest Arc topic is a token that doesn't exist. Here is the complete file — what is documented, what is reported, what is invented — in one sitting.

Radian Desk

Nothing new on the token front — which is itself the point worth absorbing before launch week's noise.

What it means

The documented facts fit in a paragraph. Circle published a whitepaper in May describing a potential coordination asset: staking and governance for a future proof-of-stake Arc, explicitly exploratory, with every number — supply, allocation, dates — deliberately absent. The reported layer adds one item: press accounts of a ~$222M token sale at a ~$3B valuation, which Circle itself has not published. Everything else circulating — airdrop dates, eligibility formulas, allocation charts — is invented, and our claim ledger tracks each rumour against what would count as proof.

The structural insight most coverage misses: Arc launches in nine days without a token because it does not need one — gas is USDC by design, which removes the usual day-one reason for a network token to exist. If ARC comes, it comes for governance and staking on Circle's timetable, announced on exactly two domains.

Meanwhile the fakes are already trading, and launch week will multiply them. Calibration for the next nine days: any ARC you can buy is counterfeit, any checker wanting a signature is a drainer, and the absence of token news is not a delay — it is the design.
